SERVICES PROVIDED:

Individual and Group Sessions 

  • Each resident will work with a primary counselor during their treatment stay. Residents will attend individual sessions with their primary counselor on a weekly basis. Each resident will work hand and hand with their primary counselor to develop their own treatment plan goals.

  • Residents will attend a weekly small group facilitated by a clinical team member. These groups consist of 8 to 10 residents. Group topics range from communication skills, healthy coping skill, refusal skills, healthy boundaries, building a strong sober support network, etc.

Family Services 

  • Daystar Center believes that family members can play an integral role in the recovery process of loved ones. Daystar Center offers individual family sessions for residents and their loved ones. These family sessions will be facilitated by the resident’s primary counselor.

  • A Family Program is offered on a monthly basis for residents, family, friends, and supports. The Family Program is facilitated by clinical team members and offers a setting in which residents and loved ones can come together for healing. This program provides an opportunity for loved ones to learn about the disease concept of addiction, codependency, boundaries, family dynamics, and self-care.

Case Management 

  • Daystar Center works closely with community-based resources to assist residents in connecting with these services. These resources provide assistance with Certified Recovery Specialists, housing assistance, aftercare planning, mental health services, physical health services, dental services, parenting education, healthy recreational activities, employment agencies, spirituality, legal assistance, educational services, etc.

Life Skills 

  • Residents begin to develop or relearn life skills while in treatment at Daystar Center. Residents participate in basic living skills to begin developing healthy daily routines. Daystar Center staff helps to assist residents in budgeting, resume building, job search, interviewing skills, time management, credit repair, banking, etc.

Medication Monitoring and Education 

  • All residents will meet with a medical professional during their treatment stay at Daystar Center. Residents will learn about their physical and mental health needs. Daystar Center works closely with physical and mental health providers in the community to meet the needs of each individual resident.

Community Involvement

  • Daystar Center believes that community involvement is a vital part of the recovery process. Residents will begin giving back to the community during their treatment stay at Daystar. Daystar residents volunteer their time at the local soup kitchen, recovery centers, and local events throughout Dauphin County. Daystar has also adopted the local block where residents participate in a regular clean-up of the neighborhood. 

Recovery Support Systems 

  • Residents will begin developing a strong support network during their treatment stay. Each resident will be educated on recovery support systems and the importance of their involvement throughout their recovery process. Recovery Support Systems may include, but are not limited to, the following: Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Methamphetamine Anonymous, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, Co-dependents Anonymous, Refuge Recovery, etc.

Long- Term Follow-Ups

  • Daystar Center performs follow-ups with all residents after treatment, no matter discharge status. Former residents are encouraged to remain connected with Daystar Center through mentoring current residents, facilitating recovery meetings, etc. All former clients are encouraged to attend Daystar Center’s weekly aftercare group.
